Subject: Professional hazards for foreign doctors who come to Romania.

 

My name is Raz Hochman and I am the owner of three private medical centers in Romania:

1.    Gynecology and fertility center in Bucharest.

2.    Medical center with catheterization labs for cardiology and invasive radiology in Bucharest.

3.    Medical center with 2 catheterization labs at a regional government hospital in North Romania with 1,200 beds.

As of 2003, the doctors who held Israeli, European and American citizenship were invited to perform medical procedures in fertility on women and invasive cardiology fields at adults and children.

Our administration office had followed and complied with the Romanian’s regulations and issued local temporary work permits that enabled them to work in Romania.

In February 2013, we were surprised with an unexpected visit from a prosecutor named Marian Delcea

,from the local poleis eerier . 

All doctors and administrators were put under house arrest.

The German doctor with Israeli citizenship for whom a work permit was issued was held in Romania for 90 days. One of the charges of the prosecutor was that all work permits that were issued by the medical college of Romania were illegal and bought by bribe.

 

When a prosecutor raises  serious allegations as the aforementioned with no proof and holds a professor/ doctor in house arrest for 90 days,

I would suggest that all invitations for medical procedures performed in Romania by foreign doctors will be considered carefully. 

An alternative is to request the prosecutor’s signature on every work permit that is issued by the medical college in order to protect these physicians who want to work in Romania.

Also, the prosecutor confiscates all medications for personal use that were purchased at the origin country if they are not registered for use in Romania and press charges for it.

Due to the fact that my line of business is medical entrepreneur, I see it fit to bring to your attention the suffering that I and the German doctor have been through by the hands of the Romanian law system.
